     All lovers bring lessons, so what if we chose lovers based on which lessons we wanted?
     If we found it scary to receive, a generous partner would be a good teacher. If we wanted to be vulnerable, one who held our deepest truths safely softly would be good.
     And by this logic, also, if we needed to learn boundaries, choosing a partner who runs roughshod over the lines where our limits should be would be a reflection of our deep wisdom &  ability to intuitively find the teachers we needed, not a reflection of foolishness or brokenness.

The Sun represents success, radiance and abundance. The Sun gives you strength and tells you that no matter where you go or what you do, your positive and radiant energy will follow you and will bring you happiness and joy. Judgement

Change has been coming your way for a while now and today you may see the first explicit features of it. What happens today is only a beginning and you may look back in a few days/weeks/months and recognize that your life is in the process of making a turn for the better. It's the nature of life to not stay the same, and you are being moved forward now.

Given the journey that I have been on these last several months(and years), this seems perfect for the day. My partner and I had a lovely morning and went to the gym in time for a trip to the steam room before the shower. I feel centered and calm, personally, which is the upside, since I'm kind of losing my footing at the desk with all the touch-and-disappear aspects of how the project elements are handled. It's all to the good, since I can come up with whatever organizational plan makes sense to me, and now I have enough information to begin crafting one.

Speaking of crafting, my creative mind has been wide open and completely engaged, all the time lately. This morning while thinking of getting dressed, I designed three different outfits before I walked across the room to the closet.
Knitting especially has a lot of traction with me right now, and I have even dreamed of it. There is a particular yarn that is showing up, and I had forgotten about it altogether. I am hoping to order several skeins on Glenhaven Fingering in time for a late January or February delivery, probably with some solids to go with it.

Yesterday evening we walked the track and talked about priorities -- it felt good and centering and whole. Then, before dinner, I found the time and space to call my sponsor for the first time in ages, and even though I only left a message, it felt good to connect. She called me back later in the evening and we talked for a bit, and that was even better.  Staying connected with my community is really powerful for me, and I'm glad I have it.

We didn't make it to the gym this morning, having spent that time in line at the poling place, but I'm okay with that. I'm glad I went and glad that I have the privilege.

I'm looking forward to my time-honored Election Day traditions: voting before dawn, checking the results from Dixville Notch after voting (Clinton, this year), parent-teacher conferences, lunchtime election talk,  errands and outings, dinner together, watching returns after the polls close.

The Chariot

No matter how routine and ordinary you may feel about today's duties and demands, you can bolster your spirit by remembering what inspires you. There are role models, ideals, dreams, and aspirations that can inform and improve even the simplest and most modest of your activities. Today can be easy if you don't try to swim upstream. Do what's expected of you (and what you need to do, anyway) and don't rebel, at least not outwardly. You're given plenty of authority to convince people to help you if necessary, and there should be few if any arguments. Be calm, respect authority, and you'll automatically be given the respect you deserve, plus more. Get a lot done!

This was a great card for me today. I like the interpretation on the Ancestor version of the Hierophant that Beth has:

The Ancestor represents also the change that occurs when we get back in touch with these deep roots – whether we realise this has happened or not.

When she appears in a reading (and she hasn’t yet, for me), I imagine a sense of wonder and bewilderment – a tugging, a magnetism, drawing me towards something inexplicable – Moon-like in her mystery, her mask and drum held high. The silver crescent falls behind her as a red dawn breaks – this is a safer place than the realm of the Moon.

The Ancestor beats her drum and I hear it in my chest.

Though I don’t know where I’m headed, she reassures me that she will stay with me as I journey, and that I am equipped with everything I need.

The Archer (Chariot)

The Chariot:
Be strong in your convictions and don't be distracted from doing your best. You may want to single out one good cause especially close to your heart and keep it in mind even if you don't actively work or donate to that cause. Your spirit of dedication will improve your chances at accomplishing whatever else you're pursuing. Feel virtuous and humble, and successful, too

The Seer (High Priestess)

The High Priestess:
Be inconspicuous if you can, stay out of your own way, and see how many things go right all by themselves. Real luck is looking for you today, but you can chase it away by trying to have too much control over everything. This is not a day to micromanage. Rather, listen to your hunches, and don't demand solid answers or too many facts or figures.

This card is perfect for me today, reminding me to be still and look inside myself, to seek any answers from within, and otherwise to let the universe turn as it will for a bit as I listen.

I always love getting this card, and especially love the interpretation of the Seer in the Wildwood Deck.

The Fool

My card for the day couldn't be more appropriate.

The Fool:
Boredom could be a problem today, so put more energy into finishing what needs to get done before you decide to slow down or stop for the day. Once you've done the minimum required for the day, the rest of the time becomes yours to do with as you please. You don't really mean to waste the rest of the day, but you don't have to burn yourself out, either.

Temperance

Temperance:
Pace yourself today and get more done than you might imagine as the day begins. It's all right to be tired from time to time. It doesn't have to cripple all your plans for the day. Maintain a sensible balance, remember to eat healthy, take a short break once and a while, and don't aim too high. There's plenty of work to be done that you can handle with ease.

The Star

The Star, card of hopes, dreams and cosmic blessings.

What a lovely card to wake up to amid the chaos and demands of life.

Today’s message is as simple and as pure as the waters the Star pours from her flagons – everything will be just fine.

If you’re having troubles, they will ease today; if you’re feeling down, you will feel lifted; anything negative that may be present in your life will be lessened, with the good coming through. Perhaps first in a trickle, but you will see it and feel it, have faith in that.

On the other side of the coin, if you’re waiting on a result, it will be a good one, if you’re waiting on news at all, or a decision being made my another, you will receive it today and it will be in your favour. Such is the beauty of the Star card.
