Today I interviewed Bob Goodlatte, federal representative for Virginia's ninth district. We talked about HR 29, his proposal to terminate the federal tax code of 1986 -- the whole thing -- as a way to force a conversation about what would be better.

Doomsday looms

The closest ever, and just getting closer.

This week, one can only wonder if that's padded with sixty extra seconds of optimism.
Hint: When Trump advised folks to "Go Nuclear," he wasn't making a reference to Iran. Yet.

Not Americans; We are Alaskans.

Ordinarily I do not post video clips, but I believe that seeing the footage of the Alaskan secession convention last year and Gov. Palin's welcome message to the Independence Convention this year are worth the bandwidth. I was all excited about Sarah's nomination to VP. Not enough to vote Republican, mind you, but really, honestly enthusiastic about her. Little did I know that, though a newcomer to the political scene, her 'reform' actually had more to do with leaving the Union, is a product of a political system in Alaska now under the cloud of an ongoing FBI investigation and hired lobbyist Steven Silver, who from 2002 to 2004 Silver listed as a client Jack Abramoff's lobbying firm, Greenberg Traurig. On Greenberg's behalf, Silver lobbied the federal government on "issues relating to Indian/Native American policy," "exploration for oil and gas" and "legislation relating to gaming issues" -- the very issues that Abramoff headed up for Greenberg at the time. In other words, Silver appears to have been a part of "Team Abramoff."
