Fifty years ago, the shipping container revolutionized the marketplace, making global consumers of us all. Far beyond luxury incidentals such as flat screens and Peleton bikes, international shipping provides delivery of basic necessary items such as grain and shelf-stable food -- even produce. Global infrastructure was never sustainable, and coronavirus has thrown a wrench into the works.
 
Find local solutions for your needs, wherever and whenever possible. This was always a GoodIdea™️, but now it might be critical as shipping tries to sort itself out through the rest of the year.
