Weird mix

My life is a weird mix in general but today it really hit home.

At lunch, I worked up a new budget for my family while knitting; I made research notes on vaccination rates in my neighborhood and preschool attendance rates while I showered. This afternoon I rocked Vivian, who is almost too large to fit in my lap, while reading A Fighting Chance by Elizabeth Warren. This evening I sautéed organic chicken while making notes on the stock market speculation that drove the Wall Street crash of 1929. It's almost bedtime, and Vivian is putting away her blocks in anticipation of reading Frog and Toad, and I am jotting notes on either side of a sheet of paper, one with the heading "Too Big to Fail research" and the other with the heading "Tuesday Shopping List."
