From chaos, peace

Yesterday I did some serious thinking and planning and working.

Because I was feeling overwhelmed at not having time to make nice meals at home, I created a Once-A-Month meal plan and cooking fest. This is scheduled for Saturday, and I'm looking forward to it. The teenage gang, now known (affectionately, of course) as The Wild Things, will be on hand to help move and tote stuff, chop and clean, and naturally to help sample the wares.

Because I was feeling as though the day-to-day routine was slipping out of my (imagined) control, I made a schedule, complete with chore assignments, and posted it on the fridge. Being who I am, I also color-coded the chore assignments so that there would be even less confusion or but-i-didn't-know factors.

This morning I made it to the gym and I feel so much better for it. I swear that it is better than Prozac.
Also, the boys have been wonderful about doing their parts, even (and especially) when they don't want to.
