We are back in Grandin Village again, and really loving it. There is plenty of space in the house for each of us, and I'm looking forward to cooking soon. The boys and I are planning a Pumpkin Carving Party for the end of the month, and in-between we are enjoying the place overall (especially the dishwasher!). There is a lot of paperwork, what with transferring schools and the like, but after the summer and beginning school year we had, it's worth it. This morning's trip to work took just around ten minutes, I was baffled; I mean, I had just started listening to the news and it was time to get out of the car. Not a bad deal. Last night we celebrated at Isaac's Mediterranean restaurant, a favorite of mine and a new place to the boys. (Confession: We had decided to go to Grace's for pizza, but it, along with nearly everything except Isaac's was closed on Mondays.) We swooned over the delicious fare, delighted in the live piano music, and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly enough to want to make a regular date of it, which is perfectly fine with me. This morning I spent some time talking with a representative for the local internet company getting everything ordered and scheduled, and the experience, while tedious and long, wasn't nearly as Kafka-esque an experience as the last time I spoke with them five years ago. I also have a land line (which will have no ringer, since it drives me crazy, but will be available for calling out, should we need it) and electricity, and will have heat and water soon. I feel positively enfranchised.
