Heidi’s Chocolate Chip Cookies

Heidi’s Chocolate Chip Cookies
Simply put, these cookies will satisfy. The recipe can be used as a base for all manner of variations, and has served the family well since its creation over two decades ago. Feel free to mix it up and get creative -- this recipe can take it.
Ingredients
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ cups organic raw sugar
  • 1 c. all purpose flour
  • ½ cup (1 sticks) butter, softened
  • ½ lemon
  • 1 Tablespoon Madagascar vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt

Equipment
  • Cookie sheet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Wire Whisk
  • Wooden Spoon
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In the mixing bowl, cream the softened butter until fluffy. Add sugar and mix well until smooth.
  3. Add egg, mixing to incorporate.
  4. Add the juice of the lemon. Zest the lemon peel into the batter.
  5. Mix the salt into the flour and then add to the batter, stirring just enough to incorporate.
  6. Pour the vanilla over the chocolate chips and stir, then fold into the dough.
  7. Drop by spoonfuls onto the cookie sheet.
  8. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes, until a firm and golden.
