Helping my scholars have the best experience they can is paramount for me, and to that end I am experimenting with wholesome breakfasts that fit in with my busy (and often caffeine- and sleep-deprived) morning. Today we are having oatmeal (with spices and apples of course) in a mug and bowls of butternut squash. Yum. Not even the chilly gray can stop the feeling of warmth and quiet cheer that these bring. Here's hoping that the feeling lasts throughout the day, my dears, and that the nutrients help your brains and bodies function.
I'm not certain what it is about butternut squash that leaves me feeling as though all will be all right with the world, even if it might be topsy-turvy at the moment, but I was overdue for a dose of it. I have some classwork of my own to focus on and a few plans to sketch out before I head to school myself this evening.
Do you have a great recipe to share that makes morning simple and nurturing? Drop me a line. I'm interested.
And just because I love starting the day on a positive note, here's your thought of the day:
The best part of life is not just surviving, but thriving with passion and compassion and humor and style and generosity and kindness.
