New & Noteworthy: Leap Day

Outside my window today: This morning I woke up to hear the seven o'clock whistle blow just as a tremendous flash sparked in the early-morning gloom. The thunder that followed shook the house for a good ten seconds.

Things that make me happy:
Rainy days, thunderstorms and tea

On the kindle:
Patrick Rothfuss' The Name of the Wind. I read Terry Pratchett's Snuff last week and still, after so many books, the Discworld continues to be a favorite place to visit.

Recent Episodes:
Once Upon a Time
Castle

Movie of the Week:
The Dark Knight

On the menu:
White Bean Chicken Chile

On my To Do List:
  • File taxes
  • Laundry
  • Sort Vivian's too-small clothes out

Recipe I want to try soon:
  • Focaccia with spinach and artichoke hearts
  • Springtime macaroni Salad

In the craft basket:
A blanket, this time in a very fine stockinette stitch in white.

Looking forward to:
Planting the garden

Tips and Tricks:

Post of the week:
First Lady and Dr. Biden Urge Action from State Governors on Military Spouse Hiring

Blog Hopping:
Good Food, Good People

Worth a thousand words:

Lesson learned the past few days:
Put the energy and the effort out there, and then, as when planting seeds, have faith.

On my mind:
I think it's about time to get a new phone.

Thought of the week:
Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world. ----Harriet Tubman
