garden report

In our garden this year, we have several dark-horse hopefuls. These are seed packets that are years out of date, or plants from grocery store purchases that ended up sprouting before we used them. In the latter category, we had potatoes and onions, and ended up planting them and wishing them well, not really thinking much would come of it.

In fact, they are thriving. Who knew?

The pumpkins and squash are poking up, and the peas are making a showing as well. The corn and beans have come up, of course, and the tomatoes seem to have survived the wilting weather this week.

Face it: the next few months will be filled with wow-moments, can you believe this posts. It's what summer is all about for me. I don't think I will ever stop being fascinated by gardening.
