Today on the way into town David and I were talking and the names of the full moons came up. A cursory search resulted in a list of commonly accepted ones as well as a more inclusive, culturally aware list. Interestingly enough, neither list includes Sugar Moon for any month, let alone February or March as I had thought. IThe whole concept came up because we were discussing planting fruit trees and where, and some sugar maples by the roadside for their brilliant foliage (and not because I want to go through the labor-intensive process of making syrup). I still like the name of Sugar Moon and might keep it.
David mentioned the Highland Maple Festival, which sounds like a lovely event. I've added it to our calendar and am quite looking forward to attending.
