In the midst of all that was 2020, some amazing things happened, some difficult work was done, and there were personal accomplishments.
The most important thing for me is that Vivian's and my relationship got back on a path of healing. I developed a spiritual practice with a friend by talking in the phone every morning. I met some amazing people and stayed in wonderful new-to-me places. I wrote, and read, and became an editor. I knit nine pieces to completion, most of which were gifts, and set up a wholesale account with a yarn supplier. I grew turmeric and ginger in containers and went to town with sourdough bread over the summer, and was able to share with friends.
I completed the MFA program, had my first publication, crafted really next-level pieces of the Memoir, and cleared the way to begin the doctorate.
Physically and emotionally, there was a mountain of healing. There is more healing, and there is also acceptance.
I did not give way to despair, even though that was difficult at times.
